Hello folks and Welcome to Update March 2020!
February was a long month this year, but March still came up quick. Once again, I’m behind on some of the things I’d like to accomplish for Retro Dee’s Guide to the Best Era Ever. Although, it’s not such a big deal since the 1950’s are History and History’s not going anywhere!
I’m still working on updating the 50’s Study Hall section. As I said in last month’s Update post, my goal is to make 50’s Study Hall larger, and an easier reference section for my readers to navigate.
As always, I’m trying to maintain a balance between music, fashion and other topics on this blog, which is kinda easier said than done, but it’s a challenge anyway… and I love a good challenge! (as opposed to a bad one 🙂 )
For those of you wondering about my cat Holly, she’s a little charmer, doing great and now goes outside in her kitty tent to watch the birdies on the deck. I was surprised at how much she enjoys being in the tent, since it isn’t very big, but she loves getting fresh air. Sometimes even when she comes back into the house, she’ll go into her tent to chase her toys around. You can see Holly’s videos on my Instagram @mariepascal82
If you’re wondering why my Instagram user name is “Marie Pascal” (and not Retro Dee) there is a reason! A couple of years ago I joined Instagram with only one intention: to buy and trade Disney Pins! I belonged to a fabulous community online and some of the people on there mentioned that Instagram was a great place for pin collecting. So when I signed up, I chose the name “Marie” for Marie the kitten in Disney’s 1970 animated feature The Aristocats. “Pascal” is for the chameleon in Disney’s 2010 movie, Tangled. Those two characters were mainly what I was collecting.
I no longer actively collect or trade pins, but I never changed my user name, so there you have it. I get called “Marie” a lot, which is understandable, but I usually correct any new found IG friends and tell them they can call me “Dee”. 🙂
If you use Twitter (and you should!), I’m @RealRetroDee. Twitter is just as active as ever, in my opinion. I don’t think it’s being replaced by Instagram— they are two very different platforms. Just my two cents!
Speaking of Twitter, on March 17, 2020 (St. Patrick’s Day!) My Twitter account will be one year old! I have enjoyed making new friends on there, particularly those with musical interests. If you enjoy music chat, polls and some (mostly) good-natured opinionated rants, come check it out.
Well, that’s all for this month. Thanks so much for reading, I truly appreciate your interest.
Wishing You Love and Luck,
– Retro Dee
